canada: the trip

canada part 2

rachel and i spent the day cleaning, grocery shopping, making a music video and shopping. 

id say it was successful.

my trip, thus far...

so a few random things have happened so far on my trip...

1) we were on one of those moving sidewalks in the philly airport and this random guy (typical "photographer" ie. fancy camera, big plugs, thinks hes original) is walking in front of us and turns around and starts taking pictures of us, doesn't say a word just takes pictures. we loook at each other like ummm okk?

2) driving into canada the first things i see are walmart and home depot. disappointing.

3) montreal is great, the snow is cold but it seems so quaint, i like it. we've met a lot of Gians friends and oddly enough some of us have mutual friends, small world. really small world. we went to a show last night in the basement of some random building, it was the band f*cked up. yeah i don't curse, sorry. it was interesting. lots of crusty kids in montreal. 

4) we ate at this diner this morning for breakfast, i had a BLT -- not so good. and part of a grilled cheese, pretty decent. its no five guys grilled cheese though. but anyways, there is this canadian dish called poutine that they are obsessed with. its french fries, gravy, and cheese curds. i just don't know if i can get into it. i'll stick with my american cheese fries from ale house. mmmm! can't beat that!

5) we went into downtown montreal and did alittle shopping this afternoon, well we watched Gian shop. i fell in love with the boy in the Prada room. he was beautiful and awkward. i love it. haha

rachel and i are going to make dinner, i got my mom to facebook me some southern recipes. there is a grocery store really close so i think we are gonna cook tomorrow. i'm really looking forward to it! also my butt muscles are so sore. i can't even figure it out. i mean we have been walking a lot but i do walk a lot in general since i walk everywhere downtown when i'm working. hmmm who knows, well back to watching Gian play hockey on playstation or something. i've never watched this much hockey before in my life! minus mighty ducks. those movies own!

i got two late christmas presents today...first i got another ring similar to my butcher knife ring but it is scissors. thats what it looks like but a ring instead of a necklace! i loveeee it. perfect for my line of work. i also got a really cool poster that has all the brooklyn neighborhoods on it. they have a bunch of different cities, i want more. they are only like 22 bucks too. how can you beat that?!

the good and the bad

im currently addicted to hershey kisses with almonds. my mom had a bowl sitting in the kitchen, i ate one randomly (i never eat chocolate) and now the bowl is in my room empty. oops. at least almonds are good for you.

i got my new shelves put up this afternoon. so i underestimated the amount of toys i own. i definitely need a few more. my dunnys are packed on and i havent even put them all up yet! and i have no room for my munnys either. eek! so that means i need at least 3 or 4 more shelves. this is going to get expensive.

prospect

last time i was staying in brooklyn we were driving through prospect heights and it is a really nice area, i like it alot. so my plan, if i get my way...live in park slope for a bit and then when im older, married, maybe kids move to prospect heights. i don't see myself in columbia for more than 3 more years. it's time to escape.

so in my line of work i am always having to use a timer for color processing and stuff. well my timer is really boring and just silver, nothing fun. i want this one. its only 10 dollars on fredflare! how do you beat that?? i'm wondering if i should make a bed, bath & beyond trip to check out some other ones.

i love this photo. i purchased a copy from this booth at the same flea market in brooklyn. the photographer had alot of really good photos. many from coney island too. i think i got about 5 prints. go check out her etsy site! her etsy name is anniebee.

its a lamp. i want one. 

i first saw it at the brooklyn flea. there was a booth that had tons of cool lamps, bowls, random home accessories. i think it might be my next purchase. i mean i do have a giant forest wall in my room and there might be pigeons in the forest.
